Hmm I encounter this circuit while teaching science to my Primary 5 student. To me, this circuit should be able to light up the bulb and turn the electromagnet (Iron nail coiled with copper wire)into a magnet when the switch is on. This is because it is a closed circuit as magnet is a conductor of electricity.
However my student ask me will the magnetism of the magnet affect the flow of electricity and affect the bulb and the electromagnet? I told her will not. However I wasn't too confirm about it at that point of time, so I intend to try this circuit in my lab to confirm it.
